I think one of the things I hate to do the most is explain my artwork. I have no political agenda, although some of my work symbolizes basic ideas and concepts important to me. I want my work to be thought provoking, but I want the viewer to have their own thoughts, I want it to mean something to them on their own personal level, not mine. I know this is asking a lot, especially when people seem to think it’s important to understand “what the artist is trying to say”.

The visual should hit you first, whatever comes after that evolves slowly. Even when I create something with a specific concept in mind, after it’s done I stand back and look and other things start to appear, other ideas evolve. I hope the visual imagery of my work attracts the viewer long enough to let this process happen. I guess that’s what you could say I strive for in my work.

I know one of the things I love to do the most is create my artwork.
